The DPIA on EduGenAI will be published on September 1, 2025

The use of AI in education is a current topic. In Npuls, a privacy-friendly AI solution for educational institutions is being developed as an alternative to commercial generative AI solutions: EduGenAI. This is being done in close collaboration with the UvA and the HvA and from the pilot phase (September 2025) with several institutions.

Why a DPIA on EduGenAI?  

After the publication of the DPIA on Microsoft 365 Copilot, SURF Vendor Compliance has often been asked: "what alternatives are there?" We have therefore decided to contribute to EduGenAI at an early stage by carrying out a DPIA. The DPIA was executed by Privacy Company and follows the same frameworks and principles as any other DPIA from SURF Vendor Compliance.  
 
The DPIA was carried out on a future situation, in which the EduGenAI platform is not based on Microsoft Azure. The results of the DPIA will be actively included in the further development of the EduGenAI service.

On September 1, 2025, we will publish the complete DPIA. In addition, we will also organise an in-depth webinar for privacy experts and interested parties within the institutions and affiliates on September 4 from 10:00 - 12:00 AM. Sign up here.
